Why Pro-lifers disapprove of IVF

IVF or In Vitro Fertilization is the collection of procedures that extracts sperm and egg from husband and wife and fertilizes some 10 eggs resulting in conceiving 10 people. These are then inserted in the uterus and with luck and drugs, a couple of them or at least 1 successfully implant, and with more drugs and monitoring, this pregnancy is “held together” to term.

The rest of the remaining fertilized eggs are disposed, thrown away. Some are frozen for future use.
I’m going to tell you now that IVF is $$$ expensive. But as desperation sets in and marketing goes mainstream, more and more couples are seeking this route. IVF has has its success stories too, but the success rate is low. Yet, there is still hope.

Then you hear a couple of your local Pro-lifers wail against IVF when it may bring you the joy you’ve been seeking. What gives?

We pro-lifers define human life beginning at conception. That is it. We do not call those fertilized eggs in technical terms, we see them as being alive. Some pro-lifers have even gone to extreme lengths to adopt and implant and carry to term these frozen eggs / embryos to term just to prove that these are real living humans IVF clinics routinely throw away. Not much different from your common abortion.
